Madam Glam Soak Off Gel One Week Update

Press Sample

So it’s been a week since I applied the Madam Glam Soak Off Gel in Bright Barbie Pink and I wanted to update you guys on how it’s lasted during the first week….

Madam Glam one week updateAs you can see this gel has last extremely well! I want to start by saying I have not changed my daily routine or tried to “baby” my nails in any way, chores must be dones swatching must be done and this gel has held up to it all. I recently received the new Barielle Jetsetter collection (swatches coming soon!) and had a marathon swatching weekend before taking the update pic, and yes I used my regular acetone to remove the polish! I did notice some lifting at the corner of my thumb, since that’s where I grip the cotton ball my guess is it loosened from prolonged exposure to the acetone, so I trimmed off the the lifted area and it’s been fine since. I will say that I’m very impressed with how this holds up even after a chip (and proud of myself for not peeling the rest off lol), most gels will become weaker and more of the gel will start to peel off but this hasn’t. While it doesn’t look the best the chip hasn’t bothered the wear on the rest of the nail at all. I did notice ever so slight tipwear on the free edge but it looks like the gel has just worn off the tip and hasn’t affected the polish on top of the nail. I also want to note that I had a vertical split up the center of the tip on my ring finger that I had patched with glue before the gel application and it held up nicely for a week. Although it seems showers plus acetone has weakened the glue/ gel and the split opened again needing to be repaired. I filed down some of the gel, smoothed out the area around the split, then re-glued it followed by reapplication of the gel. If you look closely you can see that nail is a bit thicker, this is why. While it sucks to have a break I must say it’s a good test of this product, if you are trying to grow out a break and want something easy to remove (unlike the hard gel method I used) this works amazing and holds up great.

Overall: I’m really impressed with this gel, it lasts through chipping and shows virtually no signs of wear. I do have to say the regrowth is starting to bother me, I’m used to changing my polish at least everyday (3 at the most!) so this test is really pushing my limits haha. Part of me wants to take it off to change it but the blogger in me wants to stay committed to show how well it wears. You win this time beauty blogger you win!

Very impressive! I don’t know how you kept the same shade for that long though! I always want to peel when I see growth! I think these would be great for a trip when I am forced to wear the same polish for a week 😉

Well I’m impressed (on the wear and on your not peeling 🙂 )! This makes me think back to my acrylic wearing days and two weeks between fills… I’d go mad now, lol.

Wow, this sounds impressive! Polishes always chip on me within a day, it’s so frustrating!

This is really impressive for a week! I could never keep polish on that long either way though 😉

  13. This looks really great! And I’m proud of you for not peeling!! Haha, I know I tell all of my clients that they really, really shouldn’t peel it off, but when I have gel on and it lifts, of course I peel!!! :p

I think you’ve shown commitment enough. I always get itchy when the growth starts showing and I’ve been wearing gel polish for years now.
