Gilded and Bejeweled

Press Sample

For the longest time I have been dying to try the foiled and gemmed look, but sadly I don’t own black gel paint and I had a very difficult time using regular gel. I tried using glue but it didn’t have the right consistency to create detailed swirls. After asking for suggestions on a Facebook group, someone suggested using decals and it worked! I remembered I had these gem decals from BPS  and while they aren’t the exact look I wanted to achieve I really like how these came out…

Gilded and Bejeweled-001 Gilded and Bejeweled-002 Gilded and Bejeweled-003 Gilded and Bejeweled-004 Gilded and Bejeweled Gilded and Bejeweled-005Base color is Sinful Shine Prosecco. For the gem I put a base layer of black acrylic paint to cover the pink, then I used ILNP Success, Brilliance and Supernova mixed around. Finally, I topped it with a dollop of gel . For the rest of my nails I added gold studs from one of the Nail Art Society bags and foiled the tips with gold foil (not happy with the color and looks like I’ll have to place an order to DollarNailArt.com soon 😉 ).

How did you get just those tips foiled so precisely? I mean that must be what, 0.005mm of foil there? Great job, LOVE the mani.
