HPB Oct. Halloween Mani Link-Up: Caramel Corns
Hobby Polish Bloggers (HPB) is a Facebook group for bloggers who primarily blog for fun or more casually. HPBĀ is a great resource for getting feedback, support, and guidance on how to improve your blog. HPB has decided to start doing monthly themed link-ups and this months theme, obviously, is Halloween..
I was excited to use the new Sally Hansen Halloween 2014 collection for a nail art and these colors begged for me to do candy corns! I wanted to do something a bit different than the traditional candy corns that I did a couple years ago so I got the idea to do “melted” candy corns (but not like last years). Once I started to create the drips it reminded me of caramel apples, thus the concept of caramel corns was born!
To create this look I firstĀ sponged on a gradient of OMGhost and Pumpkin Queen, then to create the distressed look I waited until it was almost dry andĀ went over it several times with top coat. The top coat brush picked up some of the orange andĀ deposited itĀ onto the white. To create the caramel effect I generously applied Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow(original). Ā I used BM-H06 and H-07 with Night Fright for the accent nails.
