Meet Our Dog, Harley….

Since this month is Adopt a Shelter Dog month I teamed up with some fellow bloggers to create dog inspired nail art. We hope to bring awareness to people about adopting dogs from a shelters, rather than a pet store.
When my husband and I decided to get a dog we had a specific breed in mind (Puggle) but knew that we didn’t want to spend a fortune just to buy one from a  breeder. I began researching the breed and searching our local shelters’ websites in hopes of finding one available through a shelter. And as luck would have it, we did! However, several other people must have been doing the same thing because by the time we got there he was already in the process of being adopted (with a couple of backups lined up). Seeing that we had no chance at the Puggle we decided to take a look around, and I’m so glad we did! In the last room, nearing one of the last cages we found the most adorable puppy, Sugar, we asked to see him and after interacting with him we fell in love. We were told he was and Australian Cattledog mix (with what we still don’t know) and he would grow to be about 30lbs, which was exactly what we were looking for. After signing all the paperwork, and while waiting for him to get ready, we looked around the gift shop pondering what we should name him. It was then that we spotted a Harley Davidson collar and knew instantly that’s what his new name would be! (We owned a Harley at the time and enjoyed long bike rides to various destinations)
This was the day we brought him home (he was 6 weeks old).
This was when we realized he was NOT going to be 30lbs lol. He quickly kept growing and finally stopped at 60lbs.
Our boy today! He is the greatest dog we could ask for, he’s great with the kids and just loves attention.
And now for the nail art…Figured I’d put this under the ‘pattern’ theme 😉
(yes treats were involved in the taking of these pics hehe)
Base color and nail art is acrylic paint, then stamped with BM306 using Essie Blue Rhapsody.

I also highly recommend training, we trained Harley through Petsmart and are so happy with the results.
