Ooh La Valentines

This Valentine’s Day I have a special gift for all of you! It goes on your fingers, sparkles with rainbows, and will last forever…it’s swatches of the new Ooh La Lacquer V-Day 2015 collection!! 😉

You Complete Me is a golden pink holo with deep pink micro glitter. The formula is thin and easy to work with, and has full coverage in 2 coats with opaque coverage in 3.

I’ll Never Betray Thee is a navy blue to slightly blurple holo with purple micro glitter. Another thin and easy to work with formula, and has full coverage in 2 coats with opaque coverage in 3.

I Love You Baby is a deep pink holo with holo micro glitter. The color is deeper IRL than it photographs and again a thin, easy to work with formula that has full opaque coverage in 2 coats.

You Drive Me Crazy is a pink, purple, and holo micro glitter topper in a clear base. The glitter goes on sparse out of the bottle and would require several coats to reach full coverage. For this swatch I sponged on 2 layers over Sephora by OPI Dear Diary… .

So for Valentines Day how could I not create a mani using these gorgeous shades!!

 

I used  You Complete Me as my base color, then I stamped it with BM-H16 using my beloved black (are you in love with it as much as I am yet??!). For the puppies in love I used an advanced stamping technique to create a stamping decal. First I made the stamp using my black with BM-H17 , then I carefully painted over it with I’ll Never Betray Thee and I Love You Baby.  To adhere the decal, I painted a super thin layer of You Complete Me over my nail, then carefully removed the stamp from my stamper (I did not top coat it), and placed it on my nail. You only get one try with this because the base color will be in the semi-dry/tacky phase and the stamp will instantly stick to it. I stamped the hearts separately and filled in the centers with You Drive Me Crazy.
