Tragic Tale of the Mermani

This is the tragic tale of the Mermani… It was a lovely day under the sea, Ariel was out adventuring with her best friend, Flounder. They happened upon a ship, and swam closer to search for any treasures that may be hidden inside. No…wait! That’s The Little Mermaid, and she had a happy ending with her Prince! However, I’m sad to say, there was no happy ending for this poor unfortunate soul…

This look was inspired by this makeup tutorial done by beeisforbeeauty

To create this hooked mermaid mermani nail art, I started with a base color of Essie Aruba Blue, then I layered Sinful Colors Let Me Go over top. I then created a fishtail braid using ILNP Sirene and Birefringence . Next, I  double stamped over that using BM-502(part of the Sun-kissed Collection) with FingerPaints Black Expressionism and OPI This Gown Needs a Crown. To give it a bit more sparkle and shifty-ness I randomly dry brushed over the nail with Pure Ice HeartBreaker and Darling Diva Ringer. And much like the majestic unicorn, mermaids also bleed rainbows and glitter, of course. To create the blood I used China Glaze Velvet Bow and Ruby Pumps, CBL Bless Your Wicked Little Heart, and finally Nabi Red. The fishing hook is real, I hacked it to death sawed it in two and glued in on the nail. Lastly, to make the fishing line a bit more magical I used ILNP Mega(L).

Haha! Love it! Reminds be of when I was a kid and my dad dressed up as an accident victim for Halloween. He took a giant nail sawed it in half and my mom attached each end to the side of his head, complete with bandages and fake blood. You did such a great job in creating this look, and such attention to detail! 🙂
