Simple Elegance....

If you're like me and love nail art but you haven't mastered stamping or free hand art, I found the perfect solution: nail art stickers! Adding nail art stickers to your nails is an instant way to dress up your digits without any extra effort and they're also very inexpensive when compared to stamping image plates.

I recently received these butterfly nail art decals, part of the white jewelry collection, from Jobynailart.
JOBYnailart is committed to providing the best experience possible for both nail professionals and consumers, by offering quality products, creative and original designs and excellent service.
The pack comes with 18 white butterfly decals, each contains 6 "jewels".

To apply:

  1. Paint your base color on and let it dry.
  2. Gently peel off one of the decals using fine tip tweezers and position it on the nail.
  3. Apply gently pressure over the decal making sure it is completely adhered to the nail.
  4. Apply top coat and you're done!
You could do a simple accent nail.

Or you can add them to all of your nails.

I applied these decals over Pure Ice Black Out. They were super easy to apply and didn't smear when I applied my top coat. I just love them!(I wish I had these for the mani I did for my husband's company holiday party)

Price: $2.99 with free shipping on all domestic orders. (Free shipping for all qualifying international orders).

Joyous Christmas Tree...

If you follow me on Facebook  you'll remember that I tried doing this Christmas tree yesterday but it was one of those days where it took forever, nothing worked and it turned out like crap lol. So I tried again today with much better results!

 no sun =(

my son LOVES this ornament (we only have soft ornaments on the tree this year), every time he sees it he yells, "SANTA!!!" lol

Now you can see the lovely gradient!

I used all but 3 of the China Glaze Holiday Joy collection. The gradient was created from With Love, Red Satin and Cranberry Splash. Base color on accent nail is Merry Berry, the Christmas tree was created with Winter Holly and decorated with Glitter All the Way,Pizzaz, Pure joy and topped with Blue Bells Ring (under a glitter star).

This collection is available at Stixie.com.

NatureBox Review...

Today I have a different kind of post, of the food nature! Since I have other interests besides nails (and I'm sure everyone else does too) I thought I'd share this really great service called NatureBox.

I'm sure you're asking, "What is a NatureBox and why would I want it?"
NatureBox helps you eat healthier without needing to change your eating habits. We focus on snacks because that’s the easiest habit to change. Do you know that the average American eats almost 25% of their calories from snacking? In fact, snacking is the leading cause of childhood obesity. NatureBox helps you get more out of your day without wasting calories on the bad stuff.
I don't know about you but I am a BIG snacker, and while I try to find healthy snacks they're usually too expensive or may not sound/look good in the package so I don't buy them. When it comes to my boys I don't want or let them to have junk. My hopes are that if I teach them to eat well and enjoy the food they eat when they're young they will make good and healthy food choices when they are older.
Every NatureBox item is carefully sourced and nutritionist approved. Everything inside your NatureBox will be guilt free so that you can feel great about what you’re eating. You can trust that our products will be made from the most wholesome ingredients and will be minimally processed, if at all.
Now that you know what it is, what's inside a NatureBox?
Each month, your box will include 15 to 20 servings across 5 different NatureBox snacks. We take pride in picking the healthiest and most delicious snacks for you to enjoy. You can trust that our products will be made from the most wholesome ingredients and will be minimally processed, if at all. Everything you eat from us will abide by our strict quality standards.
The best part about NatureBox is:

Together, We Give

For every NatureBox delivered, together we’re helping to feed the hungry through our partnership with Feeding America. NatureBox donates one meal for every box to feed the over 14 million children in America who go hungry. We believe in doing good and eating well.
Now onto the good stuff, here's what came inside of December's Nature Box....

Masa Crisps. These are SO good! They taste just like corn chip (like Fritos) and are crispy and salty, yum! Those seeds you see are flaxseeds but you can't taste them.

Pistachio Power Clusters. These are one of my favs out of the bunch. They contain almonds, cashews and pistachios mixed with some cane sugar, sea salt and held together by rice syrup. They aren't super sweet, just enough to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Wild Blueberry Flax Granola. This is my oldest son's favorite, I gave him a little to try and when he was done he kept saying "more, more, more!" I can barely get this kid to eat anything so it was so it was great that he like this. Wild Blueberry Flax Granola is sweet and crisp with a hint of blueberry (there are freeze dried blueberries in it but not very many).

Lemon Pucker Pistachios. I wasn't very crazy about these, I like lemons and pistachios but apparently I don't like them together. I normally like salted pistachios but instead of the salty flavor these have the tartness from the lemon juice.

Dried Pears. I love dried fruit and these pears are really good. They are chewy, sweet and delicious!

Overall: I love the variety of flavors you get to try, I would have never bought the lemon pucker pistachios but it was nice having the opportunity to try them and decided whether or not I like them.

Price: NatureBox offers a monthly subscription of $19.95 with free shipping. You also have the option to pause or cancel at anytime.
Enter the code: PISTACHIO  to get 25% off your first month's box (please note that the 25% discount is only applicable to the month-to-month subscription. 6 month subscriptions receive 1 month free and 12 month subscriptions receive 3 months free).

Up on the Rooftop..

This look took FOREVER! But I'm really happy with how it turned out, I do wish I had placed his head up higher on the nail so it wasn't facing downward though =(

As my oldest son says, "It's SANTA!"

This look was entirely down with acrylic paint and flocking powder =)

Peace on Earth...

In light of recent tragic events I wanted to participate in wearing a white mani in honor of peace and non-violence.

I dedicate this to those innocent lives lost yesterday....

I used all acrylic paint (only polish used was NYC French Tip White (base over white acrylic paint) and my "rubber" finish topcoat). And I based this look off [this] image.

China Glaze Holiday Joy 2012 Collection: Part 2....

Part 2 of the China Glaze 2012 Holiday Collection....

**all glitter swatches have 3 coats unless otherwise noted**

(top coat on index and ring fingers)
Winter Holly has dark green and holo micro glitter in a clear base.  This color is so gorgeous!! Micro glitters tend to dry very gritty so this does require a thick top coat (like Gelous) or several layers of regular top coat in order for it to be smooth and glossy.

Glitter All the Way is like a glitter fruit cake exploded on my nails (lol). It has red and purple micro glitter mixed with green and gold glitter in a clear base.

Pizzaz is a bottle of bling! OMG so shiny!! It has orange, purple, blue, silver and gold tiny glitters mixed with purple and silver glitter. I'm not a fan of the mega glitter polishes (maybe it would look better layered over a base color) but this is so shiny I kinda like it lol.

(top coat on index and ring fingers)
Champagne Kisses is my favorite of the collection, it's such a beautiful nude glitter. It has rose gold, gold silver and pink micro glitter in a clear base.

In case you were wondering here is Champagne Kisses compared to I'm not Lion and as you can tell I'm not Lion is a true gold tone whereas Champagne Kisses is a rose gold.

(top coat on index and ring fingers)
Angel Wings has gold and holo micro glitter in a clear base. I don't really like this yellow gold against my skintone but the color itself is super pretty.

HOLO!

Glistening Snow is soooo gorgeous! It has silver and holo micro glitter in a clear base and it is a must have!

Here is Glistening Snow compared to Fairy Dust. In the bottle these do look similar but as you can see they are SO different. Fairy Dust is meant for layering over another polish, it just has holo micro glitter in a clear base and after 5 (yes FIVE!) coats it's not even close to opaque.

Overall: I LOVE the glitters in this collection, they go on even and look great after 2 coats but I added a 3rd just to make them fully opaque. Dry time and formula is great on all of them.

Price: You can buy these colors individually for $4.25 or prepackaged in adorable giftsets starting at $7 to $17.50 depending on how many colors are in the set at Stixie.com
