March Madness: The Final Four....
At the request of my husband, my attempt at The Final Four mani.....
I wish I had a bigger pinky. He had feet but the top coat I used to stick on the decal dissolved them =/

Happy Birthday Hubby....
Today is my Husband's birthday so I made him a cupcake. I originally wanted to do an accent beer nail based on this, but it didn't turn out so well so I decided on a beer themed cupcake (a beercake?) lol....
I used ChG Stone Cold(top coat on tips to make them shiny), SH Whirlwind White for frosting and mixed with an orange gold pigment from TKB then top with a thin layer of yellow gold fabric paint, stripes are ChG Ingrid.

It's a Match!....
Yesterday I went to a friend's bridal shower and out to dinner with my hubby so I decided I wanted my nails to match my dress( I've never matched my nails to a pattern on my outfit before). I am beyond pleased with how this turned out. I couldn't stop staring at my nails the entire day they were so pretty!

Hunger Games Gradient....
I wanted to combine all 3 of my China Glaze colors from the Hunger Games collection and I love how Fast Track looks layered over Stone Cold, so I thought a gradient would be perfect ....

Kids and Nail Polish Don't Mix....
Yesterday while my boys were sleeping I stamped my nails and added Nail Tek as my top coat. I set the bottle down next to the couch and forgot about it. Well my wonderful 21mo son climbed on the couch and found the bottle, then decided it was the must have toy of the moment. I asked him nicely to give it back (lol) and when he didn't I leaned over to get it from him before anything happened to it. He, of course, was not giving up his precious new toy to me so instead he chucked* the bottle across the room. I was in shock, my holy grail growth treatment had been thrown across the room like an unwanted toy! Then I had a moment of relief when I heard no crash or thud but that relief was short lived once I found the bottle. It had been decapitated, the neck of the bottle still inside the cap and polish spilled all over our hardwood floors. Almost the entire bottle spilled out leaving 1/4 of polish left. My guess is it hit the side of the PacknPlay we have sitting next to the couch and the padding on the side muffled the sound but it was still hard enough to break the bottle.
*Now anyone with a toddler knows they lack the ability to throw UNLESS they are throwing something of value or being they are throwing in the direction of something of value (i.e. the TV)
So here is the damage...
So yea, lesson learned, ALWAYS keep nail polish out of reach from toddlers!

Nfu-Oh
#61 and Layla Mercury Twilight are almost identical so if you have #61
you don't need Mercury Twilight, unless you're like me and need alllll
the holos!

Holo Gradient....
I am in LOVE with this mani. I was worried that the gradient wouldn't show up or it would ruin the effect of the holo but the super thin layer of holo on top pulled the whole thing together and I think it came out amazing....
These pics really don't do justice to how holo this really is. I think it's because there's a thin layer of holo over top of the gradient so the holo doesn't come off as strong. But trust me it is super holo in person!

Small Haul and Review...
Picked up a few things this past weekend and after using the makeup for about a week I thought I'd write a review for them...
This is actually part of Sally Girl's new scented collection. I'm not
fond of scented polishes but the scent is very faint and almost
unnoticeable(mainly smells like nail polish to me). It's a nice dusty
lilac color. Opaque in 1 coat but I do 2 coats just to make sure it's
even and true to color.
I have been using a deluxe sample of Boscia's B.B. Cream SPF 27 PA++ and I really like the texture of it and the coverage it offers but I haven't been able to make it to Sephora so I picked up this Olay moisturizer during my weekly trip to WalMart.
As for the Olay, I know it's not a BB cream but I really like this moisturizer. It's more pigmented then a tinted moisturizer, goes on very smooth and easy, and it doesn't leave me greasy mid-day. I have been using this every morning as part of my skincare routine and if I just stay home it's nice because it evens out my skin without looking or feeling like I have makeup on. But if I go out I apply my PF Mineral Wear Airbrushing powder and it makes my skin look smooth and even toned.
Iced Latte is a great neutral shimmer eyeshadow. This is a super fine powder shadow that you can't even feel on your lid but it has amazing color payoff. I use a dense fluffy brush and pat it on the shadow then I "rub" the shadow on my lid with the brush (I found if you pat the shadow on your lid it doesn't show up but "rubbing" it gives a gorgeous glow to the lid). This is my go to shadow now for my 5minute face because it adds light to the eyes without being frosty or overly shimmery and it applys super easy.
the bottle was so cute my older son kept trying to steal it lol
