How to Create Multi-Colored Stamps…

In response to my last mani I thought I would do a tutorial on how to create a multi-colored stamp.
You can use this method with any stamp design and color choice is completely up to you.
Tip: use polish that is on the thinner side, thick opaque colors won’t create the flawless blending that thinner polishes do.
To Begin-
  •  prep your nails by removing and pushing back cuticles.
  • Use alcohol to remove any residue or oils left from cuticle remover
  • Apply base coat
On to the Awesomeness-

Apply base color then a quick dry top coat. Base color must be completely dry before stamping.
What you’ll need-
Image plate, scraper, stamper, polishes (you can use as many colors as you like).
Apply drops of each color of polish to fill your entire image. Do not put one color on top of another, only the edges of the drops should touch.
Scrape away excess polish, then press your stamper onto the image.
Immediately after picking up the image, roll it onto the nail applying firm yet gentle pressure to the stamper.
Tip: position your stamp so that the edge of the image is lined up with the side of your nail then in a quick fluid motion roll the stamper over the nail.
*The harder you press does NOT make the image transfer better, in fact pressing too hard can smudge your design*

For solid colors you want a polish that’s a one coater (super opaque) but for this type of stamp layer dou/multichromes over black works great. Also holos stamp very well =)

This is the coolest mani I have ever seen! Would stamping like this work with gel polish and an LED light? If so, are there any colors or brands you can recommend? Thanks 🙂

    • Because of the texture of gel polish I don’t think it will work with stamping, but it’s worth a try. I have only tried Gelish gel polish so I can’t really recommend different brands.
