Maybelline BB Cream…

purchased by me

I was so excited to find the new Maybelline BB Cream at my local Wal-Mart, I have been eyeing the BB creams at Sephora for some time now but some of the prices are a bit steep. With good reason BB creams have become all the rage and drugstore brand have now jumped on the BB cream bandwagon, however unlike the higher end ones the drugstore brands contain “fragrance” so I can’t use them.

Much to my surprise this Maybelline BB cream does not contain “fragrance” so I snatched it up!

I bought the shade called “light/medium,” I like to have a bit more color in the summer so I bought it one shade darker than my skin tone. When I first saw it I thought ‘whoa does that look dark’! But once I blended it into my skin it seemed to match my coloring very nicely.
The texture of this is hard to describe, it seems like a liquid but once you blend it, it feels somewhat creamy. However, it’s not heavy or thick like a traditional cream.
In terms of coverage, this has pretty good coverage! I have a decent skin but I have a good amount of redness on my cheeks, nose and forehead and this does a really good job at covering it. My cheeks still look mildly pink but this isn’t a full coverage foundation so I don’t expect full coverage results.
One great thing about this is it does not make my skin oily!! I have very oily skin and I have and this on  for hours now (even been outside in the heat with the boys) and my face doesn’t have one bit of shine!
Overall, I’m very pleased with this BB cream and I would definitely buy it again!

Keep an eye out for it at your local drugstore!!

I followed you over from Nouveau Cheap… And I have to say that I like this product. I agree with your review that this product does a decent job of covering redness and evening out skin tone. It doesn’t cover freckles or blemishes, but it doesn’t claim to. I love the feel of the product, too. It’s like a cool gel in a way.

The only thing that is different for me is that it does make my skin shiny (mostly nose) after a couple of hours. So I set with a powder and blot to keep that at bay.

I’m sorry but I have to disagree, this doesn’t have any coverage and is just a tinted moisturizer.

    • Like I said I’m using it to cover redness, not blemishes. For me something has good coverage if it can cover my redness without being heavy, unless I’m getting dressed up then I use a medium to full coverage foundation.
